About Acne
Acne can be a really big problem for people who suffer with it. At best it can be just a few occasional flare ups with one or two spots, to complete attacks that last a long time. So what exactly is Acne? Acne is when the skin produces too much sebum. This has been proved scientifically. However it is up to you and your medical practitioner to determine what is causing the excess sebum. In a lot of cases, and this mostly refers to teenage acne, its a hormone imbalance. As you know when you're a teenager, your hormones can cause all sorts of problems, and acne is just one of them. For years people thought that there was no way to cure acne, but believe it or not there is. There is no problem with acne treatments, but the users of the treatment. They are not used properly nor are they used long enough, or the treatment that is being used is not applicable to the specific cause. When you have figured out the reason behind your acne, it's then time to start trying to choose the right treatment. In very severe cases there is medication you can take, this is really a last resort and should only be give when all other options have been exhausted. The reason being once you stop taking the medication the chances of having a re-occurance increases. If you have a mild case of acne, you can always look at natural remedies. Making a past out of baking soda can be one way of helping. Vinegar can also be used (vinegar is great for a lot of natural remedies, and did you know you can use it as a fabric softener?). Anyway, whatever you do the best advice you can have is NOT to pick at the spots you get. You WILL leave scarring, and there is very little you can do to smooth out scars. Although using a lanolin cream with vitamin e can soften scar tissue If you would like more information on acne and how to relieve the symptoms and some good remedies visit http://allaboutacne.890m.com
